Founded in 1860 by Edmond de AYALA, Champagne AYALA is an independent, family-owned Champagne House nestled in Aÿ, in the heart of the Grands Crus. A pioneer in the creation of low-dosage wines, Champagne AYALA stands out thanks to its purity of style.

Using a specific savoir-faire, each cuvée expresses the elegance of Chardonnay, Champagne AYALA’s signature grape variety, and embodies the singularity of a place where everything is crafted on site with a unique diversity of crus from Champagne’s vineyard.

This bespoke craftsmanship, without artifice, honors the essence.

Practical information

The temperature in our cellars is cool, so we advise you to dress accordingly.
The tour involves going up and down numerous stairs.
Accessible by car in 30 minutes from Reims and 1 hour 40 minutes from Paris
Closest train stations: Aÿ, Epernay (10 minutes), Champagne-Ardenne TGV (30 minutes)

We attended the prestige tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very reasonably priced and timed and the host was great. The champagne was fantastic and affordable. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for something a bit different from the big champagne houses.

We enjoyed a lovely tour of Ayala House, its history, its establishment, downfall and rise from the ashes. The guide - Gonzales - had fluent English and responded to all queries in a professional and knowledgeable manner. HIs expertise and passion for his topic was evident from the outset and right through to the tasting at the end. I would highly recommend this tour to any visitor to the beautiful village of Ay!

After having attended several tours in Champagne cellars after the one at Ayala for the first time I have a complete picture about how and why in the Champagne this divine drink is made. It’s not the most impressive and not the funniest tour but it’s far the best learning easily about the specific requirements of the cellar, the details about the vines and what makes Ayala Champagne special. If I would only attend one tour in Champagne cellars it would be this one.

We visited a few champagne houses but Ayala really was our best! The personal guide, interesting story and pretty tour & view was amazing. Within the prestige visit we could tast all of their champagnes and it was delicious. I would recommend this 100% and definitely come back.

We booked the Prestige visit and weren’t disappointed. Our tour guide (sorry, forgot his name) was very entertaining and eventhough he’s only been working for Ayala for a few months, he knew everything about the history with a lot of fun facts. Definitely recommend. Of course, their champagnes are also wonderful.

We had one of the best tour and tasting at Ayala! The guide was excellent (unfortunately I don’t recall his name). He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and engaging. He was very passionate about his work answered all of our questions which made the experience even better. The tastings at the end were very good and informative. You won’t get a better tour and tasting and I would recommend visiting Ayala and learning about its rich history. We’ll worth the money!!
